It was an absolute privilege to represent QuantLase Research & Development Center (QRDC) at Quantum.Tech Boston 2026, one of the world's leading forums bringing together researchers, technology developers, industry leaders, government organisations, investors, and innovators shaping the future of quantum technologies.

This year's event was particularly meaningful for QRDC.

Not only did we have the opportunity to showcase our latest work in photonic AI, silicon photonics and quantum technologies through our technical exhibition, but it was also a proud moment to see our Research Director, Dr. Pramod Kumar, recognised as one of the Power 10 finalists. Seeing QRDC acknowledged alongside some of the leading organisations in the field is a testament to the vision, dedication, and ambition of the entire team.

Beyond the exhibition, however, what made the conference truly valuable were the conversations.

Throughout the event, I had the pleasure of engaging with experts from across the global innovation ecosystem, including representatives from academia, quantum startups, established technology companies, intellectual property firms, investment organisations, government agencies, and strategic consulting groups.

Among the many insightful discussions were conversations with Peng Zhang (Stony Brook University), PriyaRanjan Kumar (Accelin Quantum), John Ling (Hitronics Technologies), Rob Liu (Consultant, U.S. Department of Defense), Chris Vassilopoulos (Johnson Asset Management), Priyadarshi Kumar (ReIgnite), Jaimy Blanco (Candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, Texas), Yoav Rozanovich and Tal Parnes (QTREX Quantum), Audrius Berzanskis (MagiQ Technologies), Greg Valente, Colton Dillon (quip-networks), and Michael Cuviello (Banner Witcoff).

Although these organisations operate across very different sectors, a number of common themes consistently emerged throughout our discussions.

The first was the importance of moving beyond transactional relationships and towards long-term strategic partnerships capable of accelerating innovation across borders. Secondly, there was a shared recognition that advanced manufacturing partnerships, particularly within photonics and quantum hardware, are becoming increasingly important as research transitions towards scalable products. Equally important were discussions surrounding intellectual property, commercialisation strategies, and navigating the legal landscape that accompanies emerging technologies. As innovation accelerates, protecting and strategically managing intellectual property is becoming just as important as developing the technology itself.

Another encouraging observation was the growing willingness across the international community to collaborate with emerging technology organisations from the Middle East. It was encouraging to see genuine interest in QRDC's vision and in the advanced technology ecosystem being developed within the UAE. One of the aspects I value most about attending international conferences is that the real value rarely comes from individual meetings, it comes from connecting diverse perspectives. When researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, legal experts, manufacturers, and government representatives sit around the same table, innovation moves significantly faster.

As QRDC continues to expand its capabilities in photonic AI, integrated photonics, and quantum technologies, we remain committed to building trusted international collaborations that create long-term value for both the UAE and the global technology community. I would like to thank everyone who took the time to exchange ideas throughout the conference. I look forward to continuing many of these discussions and transforming today's conversations into tomorrow's collaborations.

The future of quantum technologies will not be built by individual organisations alone. It will be built through international partnerships, shared expertise, and a common ambition to push the boundaries of innovation.
