Overview

Dr. Krzysztof Świtkowski has over eighteen years of experience in nonlinear optics and  femtosecond laser research.

Academic Degrees:

  • PhD. Physics, Warsaw University of Technology, Poland
  • MSc. Electrical Engineering, University of Rochester, USA
  • MSc. Physics, Warsaw University of Technology

He has broad experience working in Academia, as well as in Research and Development.
During his Master’s research, he joined the Ultrafast Research Group at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics, University of Rochester.

During his PhD, he developed electro-optic sampling oscilloscope, as well as pump-probe and THz time-domain spectroscopy systems.

After completing his PhD, he became a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Texas A&M University at Qatar, where he conducted research related to ultrafast nonlinear optics, laser micromachining, and structured light.

He has visited photonics laboratories at institutions such as the Australian National University, the University of Chiba in Japan, and KTH Sweden, among others.

His expertise mainly lies in ultrafast lasers, pump-probe spectroscopy methods, THz time-domain spectroscopy, and imaging using structured light.

Research grants as principal investigator:

  • EU-funded project - Foundation for Polish Science HOMING 5/2018 POIR.04.04.00-00-5E4E/18-00: Terahertz Structured Beams for Material Diagnostics and Microscopy (3 years).
